There are many cases in which R&D organizations are confined to research functions and lack sufficient collaboration with business divisions, preventing results from leading to commercialization. DI starts by asking, “What would we do if we were launching R&D from zero?” and envisions the ideal state. DI redesigns organizations, human talent, and systems in an integrated manner, realizing transformation into effective R&D organizations.
Sustainability plan formulation
There are cases in which companies are biased toward short-term KPI setting and fail to create plans that look ahead to medium- to long-term value creation and market changes. DI envisions the ideal state from both financial and non-financial perspectives, and formulates effective plans that go as far as identifying priority business domains and developing businesses.
New business strategy formulation and execution
Although companies often start by considering strategy, it is common for businesses to fail to achieve significant growth once launched simply because the process was not appropriate. Using the expertise it has cultivated over many years, DI advances projects broadly through three phases: “market analysis/identification of promising domains,” “business model design for each domain,” and “team-building/execution support.”
